PAMOJA NIGERIA
Nigeria is situated in the West African sub region. It is bordered to the north by the Republics of Niger and Chad and to the west with the Republic of Benin. It shares the eastern borders with the Republic of Cameroon right down to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean forming the southern limits of the Nigerian Territory
PAMOJA Nigeria was founded in 2005, a period in which the network was able to advance its objectives. Among the activities was the adoption of the PAMOJA Nigeria constitution, hold an election of Executives this year, registration of the organisation with the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA), the Nigerian chapter of (ANCEFA) and seek funding for PAMOJA
Nigeria activities.
Progress has been made in the sectors of education, HIV/AIDS, governance, gender and women’s rights. Pamoja Nigeria believes that in the future various issues will be dealt with. These include:
- Deepening the democratic process through increased citizen participation in governance and budgetary processes.
- Improving networking and collaboration with other CSOs and among PAPs
- Promoting Proactive support to Rooted - advocacy by the community people
- Ensuring quality monitoring, evaluation of results and documentation of good practices for learning and sharing
- Increasing linkages with Government agencies and the private sector
- Working closely with the ActionAid international Nigeria thematic teams
