More than 3000 people are attending Reflect circles in Burundi, meeting to discuss their daily problems
and find alternative solutions. This includes conflict management and response, longer term development solutions through micro-projects initiatives, HIV/AIDS prevention, literacy sessions etc…There are also about 2000 people who are now meeting weekly for post-literacy initiatives that include “Reading Clubs”, new development initiatives etc
ActionAid Burundi conducted a Training of Trainers (TOT) in Gitega in 2004. The participants were mainly of agents from AA Burundi and of partner structures. At the end of the Training of Trainers, some strategies were identified to promote the national networking. A temporary Coordination committee was set up to implement the recommendations so as to
formalize the national network.
