PAMOJA LIBERIA
Lying on the Atlantic in the southern part of West Africa, Liberia is bordered by Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Côte d'Ivoire.
The Reflect programme is doing very well in Liberia. After initial training of 27 facilitators in July 1999 a training manual was developed and Reflect work started. In addition to ActionAid, IFESH (The International Foundation for Education and Self-Help) an international NGO is also using the approach in their development work. Very interesting action points have been implemented, including large acreage of vegetable farms to support household food security and maintenance of roads to improve accessibility.
In Liberia, the old Reflect and Peace circles continued running and carrying on with their micro-credit. In 2005 they reactivated 10 circles in Cape Mount and Gbarpolu Counties. Major focus was put on the Peace Building Project and Reflect for Health Awareness.
