PAMOJA GUINEA
The Republic of Guinea is a nation in West Africa. It borders Guinea-Bissau and Senegal on the north, Mali on the north and north-east, the Côte d'Ivoire on the south-east, Liberia on the south, and Sierra Leone on the west.
Since 2004, the Reflect approach has spread through in the country. A national network, that holds regular meetings, has been formed. Some functioning
structures exist and the network members are fundraising for their activities.
IIZ-DVV has given support to organisations working with the Reflect approach. The sub-regional meeting took place in November 2005, from the 13th to the 19th in Siguiri. There were 20 participants from Senegal, Mali, Guinea and Ghana. Training in STAR Stepping Stones and Reflect has been carried out.
In addition to this, some themes have been chosen and every country has to work on them. The themes include Reflect, conflict resolution, human rights and HIV/AIDS.
The actors in Guinea, in spite of their political and economic problems, have adopted the Reflect approach and are committed to integrate themselves into the big Reflect family of Africa. Their participation in every sub-regional and
regional meeting testifies this.
